CSE is here to provide education, support and networking for families within Lower Merion School District who have children with diverse abilities.

Through educational presentations, workshops and collaborative dialogue the Committee for Special Education

• Offers educational resources and information regarding topics relevant to families regarding the education and provision of services for a child with (or thought to need) an IEP, GIEP, or 504 Service Agreement.

• Informs parents about laws and policies that affect families of children with educational, social, emotional or medical needs.

• Builds leadership among families to help them obtain resources, services, and expand opportunities for children and young adults with special needs.

• Promotes the recognition and acceptance of different learning styles and educational diversity.

• Collaborates with community organizations and professionals to gain expertise and resources for families within the Lower Merion Community.
